Thomas Fetterman Performance Gel Tip, 2-3/8 Inch Base Diameter, Pair: Thomas Fetterman Performance Gel Crutch Tips are the most shock absorbing crutch tips in the Fetterman line. Their high quality natural rubber provides superior flexibility, better ground contact and longer wear than any other tip. The patented Performance Gel Crutch Tips have a thick shock absorbing Absorbalite gel core that absorbs 80% of the negative ground impact forces associated with crutch use. They are hand assembled in a 12 step process using #1 quality natural rubber. Our formula has only 10% clay filler mixed-in versus 40-60% filler with other major brands. We add micronized silica for durability. Two coats of bonding agent are painted onto the large 1-1/4″ diameter steel disk before being molded inside each tip so it stays centered and cannot be pushed through the side wall. These attributes enable our tips to out-wear ordinary tips 3-5 times over. The Performance Gel Crutch Tips have a large 2-3/8″ base diameter making them more shock absorbing and considerably heavier than our Tornado Gel crutch Tips. Their engineered pivoting action enables more of the bottom of these tips to engage the ground for excellent traction – even at very steep crutch angles. Performance GT tips have a 2-3/8″ base diameter and weigh 6.8 ounces each. Sold as a pair.
