Handcrafted in America, One at a Time Unlike sterile, lifeless metal canes and poles, Brazos walking sticks and walking canes offer a holistic feel and natural appeal. Each Brazos piece is made in America by our skilled craftsmen, one at a time. The process starts in the field, as our harvesters carefully and sustainably collect the saplings that we use to create our hiking sticks. From that point the saplings are brought to our Texas facility where they are kiln-dried to ensure maximum usability for our woodworkers. Our craftsmen then size, straighten, and meticulously sand each walking stick, careful to retain each piece’s unique characteristics. How to Size a Walking Stick Sizing a walking stick is largely a matter of personal preference, but we do offer recommendations based on our 20 years’ experience in the hiking stick and walking cane business: 48″ for adults up to 5’4″; 55″ for adults between 5’4″ and 5’11”; and 58″ for adults taller than 5’11”.
